The SLO

Hi, my name is John Stanford.

I am the SLO for IGPE and on the executive of the GPSLON.

I am also on the executive of the NGPSA (National GP Supervisor's association) and was involved in it's formation.

I am also a director of the GPTA (GP Trainer's association) the incorporated body of the NGPSA.

I will be using these pages to keep the Supervisors and anyone interested up to date with issues affecting supervisors locally and on a national level.

I am again on the NGPSA team discussing T&Cs with the registrars.

On the T&Cs - a paper was put out by the GPRA on the SIP PIP payments. The general thrust was that it is already dealt with in the current T&Cs but the registrar could discuss the payments with the practice to see if alternative arrangements can be made. We agree that the payments are adequately discussed in the current T&Cs document. There were some inaccuracies in the document which I have identified.

The AMA has advised that the new legislation has extended some leave provisions re personal leave. I have recommended that if we have to grant extra leave provisions in one area this should be balanced by a reduction in leave in areas that we currently exceed the minimum requirements according to the new IR legislation. My aim is to achieve fair changes to the T&Cs document that comply with the new legislation.

We are currently attempting to organise a teleconference with the GPRA T&C negotiators.

I hope you find this new website useful and also a new way for me to keep you informed.
